"Men were sending love letters in the middle of wars and you're settling for boys who won't text back, don't have time for your, and think reassuring you is too much work. The bar is hell."
I saw a post similar to this on instagram. And I wholeheartedly agree. Some of us, settle for the bare minimum in relationships. The question is why? Is it low self esteem? A lot of people will blame it on low self esteem, but I think it is so much bigger than low self esteem. I think it's combination of low self esteem, "lack mentality", and societal pressure. I think this topic requires a longer blog post. 🤔
It's so true , many people normalize neglect in relationships because they’ve internalized that it’s all they can expect. Whether it’s in dating or even navigating public services, we often settle for less than we deserve. Just like how some applicants wait endlessly for updates during a SASSA status check, it reflects a wider pattern of tolerating uncertainty and lack of support. Recognizing that is the first step to demanding better , in love and in life.
